High-end fashion stores take their window displays seriously.
During the holiday season, the rows of iconic stores in New York City even have an official unveiling of their concoctions for that year, which are catalogued for circulation among fashion blogs and media outlets.
But with the changing of the seasons, stores still commit themselves to uphold the aesthetic standards of a widely visually driven industry.
Hermes enlisted the help of the artist team known as Zim & Zou to hand craft a fun and fanciful storefront window display. The Hermes store in Shanghai features both land and sea creatures, intricately fashioned out of leather and paper. The sizable collection of items included in the display took the pair at Zim & Zou a total of three months to complete. The two masterminds behind making up the duo are Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmermann. Much of their work focuses on handcrafted objects made out of “tangible materials such as paper, wood, thread, etc…”Check out more work from Zim & Zou on their website.
